Privacy policy
This explains what data the Mawtin app and mawtin.app collect, why, how we protect it, and your rights.
Who we are
Mawtin is operated by Cyberserv FZC, a company licensed in the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) free zone, United Arab Emirates. Privacy contact: [email protected].
Data we collect
We only collect what we need to build your plan:
- Setup answers: province, arrival stage and date, immigration status and its expiry date, and yes/no answers (for example whether you have a SIN, a health card or a bank account).
- Family members: whether you have a spouse, your children’s dates of birth, and any short name you choose for each person.
- Plan progress: the steps you mark as done.
- Document dates: document type and expiry date, if you enter them to get reminders.
- Email address: only if you link your account to save and restore your plan.
- Launch list: if you leave your email on our website to hear about the launch, we keep only your email and language and use them for that purpose. Email us any time to be removed.
- Limited technical data needed to run and protect the service, such as an account identifier and error logs.
How we use your data
- To build your plan, order the steps and calculate deadlines.
- To save your plan and sync it across your devices.
- To send sign-in codes and service emails.
- To improve content and fix problems.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with any government.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone settings at any time.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the service. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: database, hosting and sign-in.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Apple and Google: app distribution and payment processing, with RevenueCat to manage subscriptions.
Data may be processed or stored outside your country. We make sure providers apply appropriate safeguards.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your plan and all family data in the app: More, then “Delete my plan and start over”. To delete your account and email permanently, email [email protected] and we will complete the request within 30 days.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its processing, under the laws that apply to you. Email us and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
Mawtin is intended for adults. The only children’s data we store is the dates of birth and short names a parent enters to organize the family plan.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, and each user can only access their own household’s data. No system is 100% secure, and we will notify you if an incident affects your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with its date and tell you in the app if a change is significant.
